Organization
D.light Design was founded in 2007 by Sam Goldman and Ned Tozun , who at one time were its chief executives [1] [7] [8] [4] [9] [3] [10] .
In 2010, Donn Tys became the chairman of the board of directors and in March 2011 CEO of D.light Design , who has previously held leading management positions in the company since 2008 [11] [4] [12] .
D.light Design headquarters is located in Georgetown in Grand Cayman ( Cayman Islands , British Overseas Territories ) [4] .
Additional offices are opened in the USA ( San Francisco ), China , India and East Africa [1] [4] [13] [3] .
In 2010, the company had about 80 employees on its staff [1] .
The company held four sessions to attract investment (sowing, A, B, C). In India, sales began with a $ 30 Nova lamp, which, after daytime charging, can shine for 12 hours ten times brighter than the previously used kerosene lamp, and also serve as a recharge for a mobile phone [1] .

D.light Design develops and manufactures a specialized line of critically low-income household electrification systems for M-KOPA , which first developed and applied pay-as-you-go (PAYG) technology to this area.
Receiving a massive backlash on the use of its products, the company is constantly working to improve the manufactured goods and distribution channels, and also develops and offers new lines in the areas of activity [13] .

D.light Design luminaires resulted in household savings of a total of $ 275 million ($ 150 per family for five years), while carbon emissions were reduced by 375 thousand tons per year, and about 2,000 deaths from fires were prevented [10] .

In 2010, the company was awarded the Indian Ashden Award [16] .
In 2013, d.light received a prize of $ 1.5 million from the Zayed Future Energy Prize [3] .
