Gumenich Swamp is a state nature reserve of regional significance.

Geography
It is located in the north-east of the Moscow region of Russia , in the northern part of the Shchelkovsky district , in a forest between the villages of Protasovo and Vorya-Bogorodskoye of the Ogudnevsky rural settlement [1] . It is located in the transition zone between the Klinsko-Dmitrov Ridge (which is part of the Smolensk-Moscow Upland ) and the Meshchera Lowland belonging to the East European Plain . The reserve is organized in three blocks No. 46, 52, 55, 65, 66 [2] of Vorya - Bogorodsky section of the Moscow educational and experimental forestry [3] [4] , the boundaries of the natural monument coincide with the boundaries of the quarters. On the territory of the reserve there are soddy-podzolic soils weakly gleyed and washed away, as well as soddy - weakly and medium-podzolic, soddy-strongly podzolic [5] . The total area of the specially protected natural area is 228 ha [6] .
Hydrography
The main part of the reserve is a very boggy forest lake and belongs to the transitional [7] [8] reed swamp. The Gumenich swamp (Beef on old maps) is the source of the Okalenka stream. [9] The stream also connects the forest lakes Mokhovoe, Sinee (Goluboye), Chernoye (Bolshoi) of the Vore-Bogorodsky Lake Group [10] and then flows into the Vorya River from the left side.
History
Created by Decision of the Executive Committee of the Moscow Regional Council of People's Deputies dated 12/22/1988 No. 1670/37 [11] . By order of the Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management of the Moscow Region dated February 11, 2008 No. 13-RM, inventory acts were approved [12] . Decree of the Government of the Moscow Region dated February 11, 2009 No. 106/5 approved the Scheme for the development and deployment of a specially protected natural area [13] .
Carries out federal state forest supervision (forest protection) State treasury institution of the Moscow region "Mosobles" [14] .
Description
The nature reserve is complex, zoological, hydrological [7] , is a nesting place and a place of accumulation of waterfowl and near-water birds during spring and autumn migration flights, the habitat of animals, including those listed in the Red Book of the Moscow Region [7] , and is also part reproduction site Dolgorukovsky hunting farm located in the village of Ogudnevsky forestry [15] .
Red Book
The black grouse found in the reserve [15] is included in the list of rare vulnerable taxa that need constant monitoring and observation of the Red Book of the Moscow Region [16] , as well as in the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN .
