Pat Barker ( born Pat Barker ; born May 8, 1943 ) is one of the most influential English novelists of our time. She received many awards for her works written on the topic of memories, injuries, survival and recovery. Her work is described as concrete, clear and straightforward. Winner of the Booker Prize for 1995 for the novel “The Road of Ghosts”.
