Stipa argillosa (lat.) Is a species of monocotyledonous plants of the genus Kovyl ( Stipa ) of the family Cereals ( Poaceae ). First described by Kazakhstan botanist Yuri Andreyevich Kotukhov in 1998 [2] .

The plant is probably of hybrid origin, among the ancestors of which are the species Stipa sczerbakovii and Stipa lessingiana [3] .
