Biography
Came from the Hazraj tribe. Even before the beginning of the prophetic mission of Muhammad, he renounced paganism and became a follower of Abrahamic monotheism (Hanif) [1] .
Assad met the prophet Muhammad in Mecca and was one of the first medinians to convert to Islam. He took part in the first oath under Aqaba . Preaching among the Khazraj and Aus tribes, he encountered certain difficulties, and asked the Prophet to send his representative to them. In response, Muhammad sent Musaba ibn Umaira to Medina, who, along with Assad, was active in preaching in Medina [2] . Assad’s house has become the main stronghold of the Islamic movement in Medina [1] .
Assad died of illness after the resettlement of Muslims in Medina (Hijra). This happened in 623, on the eve of the Battle of Badr [1] .
