Marquez, Olga

Born in the family of Andrei Ufimtsev and Anna Ufimtseva. She wrote poetry from early childhood. My father worked on the radio, which, according to Marquez, influenced the choice of her life path: since childhood, she knew many creative people in Yekaterinburg. ^{[ whom? ]} In an interview, Olga recalled ^[1] :

“Before my fourth birthday, I was very sick. Dad was unemployed then, and in order to surprise me, he “bombed” at night on his old “Zaporozhets”. As a result, he bought me a music player and a bunch of records with fairy tales, in which a lot of melodies and songs sounded. I lay in bed and listened to them for days on end. I think that’s what influenced my love of music. ”

She studied at the linguistic gymnasium No. 70 of the city of Yekaterinburg . In 2009 she graduated from the Faculty of TV and Radio Journalism of the Ural State University named after Gorky . She began to write her first songs in the 9th grade. Never had a musical education ^[2] . Together with Alexander Fedotovskikh (Shapovsky) in 2004 formed the group Alai Oli .

After meeting with art manager Artyom Dertev in 2009, Alai Oli musicians moved to St. Petersburg , which gave the group more opportunities for the development and organization of tours.

She married writer ^[3] Andrei Doronin ^[4] . June 3, 2013 the couple had a son, Jerzy. The second son, Miron, was born on July 25, 2015 ^[5] . In 2018, the couple divorced, the children live with their mother. In 2017, she published a book on good nutrition, “What should I eat to lose weight,” which immediately became a bestseller. The book contains some tips and recipes for some dishes, but is positioned by the author as "scientific" ^[6] .

The Alai Oli group was founded on September 29, 2004 ^[1] . After recording the first song “God is love,” the team began to actively perform in the hometown of Yekaterinburg and beyond. An important stage in the initial period of Alai Oli’s activity was a performance at the invitation of Alexei Sidorov at the festival “60 Years of Bob Marley” in DK Gorbunov , on the same stage with the best reggae groups in Russia and vocalist Massive Attack Horace Andy ^[7] .

Alai Oli's first album, “Yes, Bro?” ^[8] was released in 2007. From 2009 to 2011, the group toured with long tours in Russia and Europe. In December 2011, the group released their third official album, titled Satta Massagana ^[9] . In 2014, Alai Oli celebrated its 10th anniversary with great concerts in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg and Moscow. At these concerts, the group gathered from 1000 to 2500 people.

In 2016, the group released its fifth album, “Balance and Depth,” ^[10] . Presentations of the album took place in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev and Yekaterinburg ^[11] .

In 2011, Olga Marquez started a fat-is-dead blog ^[12] , where a community of like-minded people interested in a healthy lifestyle appeared ^[13] . This moment, the organizers called the beginning of the school #Sekta ^[14] .

Subsequently, Marquez developed a distance learning system for those wishing to lead a healthy lifestyle and lose weight. A year later, curators joined the blog, helping volunteers on a volunteer basis ^[15] . In March 2013, the first classes of the club were held in St. Petersburg. The first enrollment was 40 people, the second - 80. Two months later, a branch was opened in Moscow, three months later - in Yekaterinburg. In 2015, there were 14 branches of the club, and more than 285 people were engaged in the remote system daily.

In 2015, the company, among other departments, formed a department, which includes biologists, doctors, microbiologists and specialists in the field of healthy nutrition and training ^{[16] [17]} . Olga Marquez says about her role in creating the company:

“ People get the feeling that I came up with a company that successfully“ shot ”and began to bring me money, and people - joy. This is not entirely true. “Sect” is not me, I am the founder, the inspirer. A “sect” is the people who make it. Both beginners and those who came to us with knowledge: doctors, athletes. According to Forbes, in 2014 #Sekta monthly turnover amounted to 8 million rubles ^[15] .
