(3040) Kozai ( lat. Kozai ) is a small asteroid that belongs to the group of asteroids crossing the orbit of Mars and belongs to the light spectral class S. It was discovered on January 23, 1979 by the Chilean astronomer W. Liller at the Cerro Tololo Observatory and named after the Japanese astronomer Yoshihide Kojai [1] .
