Guachzhou ( Chinese уп . 瓜州 , pinyin : Guāzhōu ) is a county in the Jiuquan urban district of Gansu province ( PRC ). The county is named in the medieval administrative unit, whose authorities were located in these places.

History
Under the Sui Empire, Changle County (常 乐 郡) was created. Under the Tang Empire, in 622 it was transformed into the province of Guazhou (瓜州).
Under the Qing Empire, after the Dzungar Khanate was destroyed , the Ansi guard (安西 卫) was placed in these places.
In 1913, Anxi County (安西县) was established.
In 1949, the Jiuquan Special Region (酒泉 专区) was formed, and these lands became part of it. In 1955, Jiuquan Special Region and Wuwei Special Region were merged into Zhangye Special Region (张掖 专区), but in 1961, Jiuquan Special Region was recreated. In 1970, Jiuquan Special District was renamed Jiuquan County (酒泉 地区).
By the Decree of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China of June 18, 2002, Jiuquan County and Jiuquan City County were disbanded, and Jiuquan City District was formed.
In 2006, by the decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Anxi County was renamed Guazhou.
