The vessel was built in 2000 at the Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant named after the 60th anniversary of the USSR. Since November 5, 2000, he has been part of the marine division of the ships of the Sakhalin Marine Division of the Far Eastern Customs Administration of the Federal Customs Service of Russia . • In November 2000, the BTS Pavel Vereshchagin set off from Khabarovsk to Vladivostok on his first trip to conduct sea trials in Peter the Great Bay and fine-tune the basic mechanisms. The crew, led by ship captain Gennady Yudin, has mastered the ins and outs of a new vessel in an air cavern. The port of Korsakov in southern Sakhalin was temporarily chosen as the ship's base ^[3] .
• On May 17, 2004, the BTS Pavel Vereshchagin, when conducting a special maritime operation involving SOBR Sakhalin customs forces in the Russian territorial waters of the Primorye Territory, was detained by the Vzmorye fishing seiner, which conducted the poaching of crab. Customs officers found more than a ton of live crab on board the seiner. The vessel was escorted to the port of Nevelsk for further investigation. Crab released into the sea.
• May 19, 2004 - BTS Pavel Vereshchagin detained a Mali fishing schooner at night flying under the flag of Belize . The schooner tried to escape from the customs officers, maneuvered, the team began to dump the catch overboard. However, due to the high speed of Pavel Vereshchagin (50 knots), the schooner managed to catch up. The inspection team that disembarked from the boat to the board, having checked the fishermen, did not find not only the permission to fish, but also no documents for the schooner itself. The intruder vessel was escorted to the port of Nakhodka and transferred to the border guards for further investigation ^[4] .
• August 25, 2004 - the BTS "Pavel Vereshchagin" in the Vladivostok area detained two poaching vessels: the trawlers "Kolymsky" (home port Kholmsk) and the Mirny (home port Nevelsk), illegally conducting crab fishing. During a search on board the Kolymsky trawler, more than 2.7 thousand crabs were discovered, and more than 9.5 thousand were caught on the Mirny trawler. Live crab released into the sea. Violating convoy vessels were escorted to the port of Vladivostok for further investigation. ^[5]
• November 3, 2005 - the Pavel Vereshchagin BTS in the area of ​​Cape Gold was detained by the smuggling vessel Altail, flying under the Cambodian flag . When checking it turned out that about 10 tons of different kinds of crab are on board. The captain did not have permission to fish. In addition, Altail was located in the Russian territorial waters in the “closed border” mode, which is also illegal. The crab was released into the sea, and the vessel was escorted to the port of Nevelsk for investigation ^[6] .
• April 20, 2007 - BTS Pavel Vereshchagin successfully passed the next readiness check for navigation. New acoustics and navigation systems were tested on various modes, conditional detention of smugglers, tests for the survivability of the vessel (fire in the engine compartment and a hole in the radio room) were conducted. The team members, acting in a coordinated manner, eliminated all abnormal situations in time limits ^[7] .
• September 4, 2007 - BTS Pavel Vereshchagin in the waters of the Tatar Strait once again collided with the fishing boat Altail under the Cambodian flag . The vessel was forcibly stopped after warning shots. The customs officers found more than 17 tons of crab on board the trespassing ship: 4.2 tons of Kamchatka, 10.7 tons of blue, and 2.3 tons of snowstorm-opilio. An infringement decision was made on the fact of violations, the offender vessel was convoyed to the port of Korsakov ^[8] .
• June 20, 2011 - BTS Pavel Vereshchagin, during a special maritime operation, an illegal exit of a Russian vessel outside the territorial sea of ​​the Russian Federation with a cargo of sea products on board was recorded when attempting to descend from another transport vessel arriving from a neighboring state in order to carry out overload of extracted sea ​​products. . Having seen the customs vessel, the captain of the schooner headed for Russian waters, simultaneously throwing overboard the aquatic biological resources on board the vessel. However, I did not manage to completely get rid of the signs of illegal activity. When, as a result of a brief pursuit, the inspection team landed on board, there still remained 180 kg of live crab, 30 kg of fresh-frozen octopus and one and a half tons of herring. According to the results of the inspection of the vessel, an administrative violation case was initiated ^[9] .
• April 25, 2012 - BTS Pavel Vereshchagin, together with another BTS of the Sakhalin department Vitaly Kirsanov, conducted a readiness test in the waters of the Tatar Strait . The tasks assigned to the convoys of both vessels were to work out actions in the seizure of the intruder vessel, the rescue of the drowning man, shooting, fire on board, and flooding. The results of the exercises once again confirmed the high level of crews and technical readiness of the ship, and its equipment ^[10] .
• December 5, 2014 - BTS "Pavel Vereshchagin" detained a vessel illegally transporting cargo of crabs . On board, found more than eight tons of live crab. The vessel was arrested and delivered to the port of Nevel ^[11] .
