Biography
Raymond Gonzalez was born and raised in southern California. He received the surname Fayst from his adoptive father, film director Felix E. Feist . He graduated with honors from the University of California, San Diego , with a bachelor's degree in communications technology. In 1982, he made his debut in literature with a dilemy “The Magician” ( English Magician ) in the fantasy genre , which became the beginning of the extensive series “The War of the Gates” ( English Riftwar , from the geological term rift , that is, the “gap”) about the world of Midkemia. The English edition of the novel alone was sold in over 1 million copies. [4]
His books have been translated into many foreign languages, and the total circulation exceeded 15 million copies. [5] .
Series
- The War of the Gates - Raymond's first and most famous works were two dilogies about the world of Midkemia. This world was invented by Faist for role-playing games with his college friends in the 70s . The first two books describe the adventures of a young man named Pug, who was captured by aliens from the parallel world of Kelevan and became a powerful wizard. The next two books talk about the struggle of his friend Prince Aruta with the leader of the dark elves.

- Krondor - an action series about the city of Krondor continues the story of the fight against the guild of killers called "Night Hawks." Even before the release of the books, this story was told in the role-playing games Betrayal at Krondor and Return to Krondor .
