Content
Title
The name is from the hydronym Donshchina. That was the name of one of the channels of the Don River , over which stood a monastery. Near the village, near the tract Mogilki discovered and studied the ancient Slavic village.
History
According to legend, the eastern conqueror pitched on the site of the village. Tamerlan before the attack on Yelets (1395). After his departure, a small monastery appeared here, which eventually ceased to exist, leaving the monastery village of Danshino in its place.
