The name Nikolaevsky passage was assigned on September 2, 2009 [1] . It is given "according to the previously existing Nikolaev village" [2] . The village of Nikolaevsky (also Nikolaevsky [3] ) was at the beginning of the 20th century along the Moscow highway [4] .

Nikolaevsky passage has no turns. When approaching Sofiyskaya street it rests on its “pocket”, and not on the main roadway.

In the future, according to the territory planning project approved in 2009 [5] , the extension of Mykolayiv passage to the south-west is planned [6] .
