Biography
Born in 1910 in the city of Feodosia, Tauride province in a Jewish family.
She studied at the Roman Academy of Arts in 1925-1926, then from 1927 - at VKhUTEIN at the monumental department of the painting faculty. In 1930 she left her studies in connection with the reorganization of VKhUTEIN. Lived and worked in Moscow, has been a member of the Four Arts art society since 1930.
Elkonina-Rosenberg is the author of pictorial, graphic and monumental works. In the 1940s, she took part (together with L. A. Bruni ) in the painting of the ceiling of the Central Theater of the Red Army, where landscapes of the Central Russian strip were depicted. She also completed a number of picturesque and mosaic panels together with her husband V. B. Elkonin, in particular a panel dedicated to the 800th anniversary of Moscow for the club of the plant named after S. M. Budyonny (1948).
The artist participated in Moscow and all-Union exhibitions. So her works were presented at the exhibition “30 years of Moscow Art Museum” (1962), “Exhibition of Arts of 1920-1930s” (1931). Personal exhibitions were held in 1970 and 1975 together with VB Elkonin, and in 1982 her memorial exposition was held.
She died in 1980 in Moscow. She was buried at the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery (section 4a) together with her husband - artist V. B. Elkonin (1910-1994). [2]
The artist’s works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery , the State Russian Museum , the State Museum of Fine Arts , as well as in private collections abroad.
