Biography

Vadim Baggovut studied in the Simbirsk cadet corps (did not graduate), since 1916 - the midshipman of the 4th company of the Marine Cadet Corps , in 1917 transferred to the Separate Midshipmen’s classes and merged with the 3rd company [1] .

Since November 12, 1917 he participated in overseas voyage on the auxiliary cruiser "Eagle" . In December 1918, the “Eagle” arrived from Saigon in Vladivostok , where not long before the authority of the Supreme Ruler Admiral Kolchak had established itself . Baggovut was enrolled in the 1st company of the Naval College, from there he was transferred to the Training and Instructor School, from which he was released as second lieutenant in the autumn of 1919 [1] .

From September 1921 he served in the Siberian Flotilla in the Marine Company, from February 1922 in the 2nd company of the Separate Marine Airborne Battalion, and from August 1922 on the gunboat Manjur . Midshipman of war time (renamed from second lieutenants on August 5, 1921 [1] ).

On August 13, 1922, Baggovut was demoted by the commander of the Zemsky rati, M. K. Diterichs, to the rank and file, with the wording “for the lack of honor and dignity of the officer rank” [2] .

After the evacuation of the White forces of Primorye, Baggovut arrived in the Philippines as a sailor of the 2nd article of the Svir transport. The rank of war midshipman was returned to him by order of Rear Admiral G.K. Stark in Olongapo on August 8, 1923 [3] .

In exile, Baggovut remained in the Philippines, during the Second World War he participated in a guerrilla war with the Japanese occupying the islands, became the captain of the Philippine army. He died on October 1, 1966 in Manila. There was a single [3] .
