2009 Shooting at School
On March 11, 2009, the name of the city of Winnenden fell into all international news bulletins in connection with the shooting at the Albertville-Ralschule school ( German: Albertville-Realschule ). The shooter was a seventeen-year-old former student of the school. The fire was opened without warning. [1] Firing killed 15 people. The attacker later committed suicide.
Most of the victims at the school were female: eight students, three teachers and one student, according to Heribert Rech, Minister of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg . [2]
