Biography
Pupil SDYUSSHOR number 5 of the city of Lipetsk. She began athletics from the third grade of school. As a child, she participated in running and long jump competitions. From the age of 15 she went over to throwing, while for some time she tried to combine throwing a spear and a disk, but soon she stopped only at the last one. In the athlete at the level of the Russian national team she grew up under the leadership of the first coach Valery Timofeevich Khorovtsev [1] .
Became the winner of youth and youth championships in Russia. In 2008, she performed at the World Junior Championships , but could not pass the qualification barrier (in the best attempt she threw the disc at 48.13 m and remained in 16th place) [2] . In 2009, she participated in the World Universiade in Belgrade, where she took 6th place with a personal record of 56.65 m.
At the age of 20, for the first time she became the winner of the Russian championship , winning a silver medal in 2010. Then, together with the Russian national team, she became the silver medalist of the European Cup in winter throwing , although she was 13th in the individual standings. A year later, Catherine won the youth competition at the same tournament with a 55.56 m throw. In subsequent years, she became the two-time Cup winner in the Russian national team (2012, 2013).
In May 2012, at the team championship of Russia she met the standard of an international-class master of sports (63.52 m). However , after 1.5 months at the country's summer championship, she failed to show a similar result - only 6th place, which did not allow getting into the team for the Olympic Games.
In 2013, she became the country's champion for the first time, having won both the winter and summer championships of the country and thus having earned the right to represent the country at the home world championship . On it, Catherine took 16th place in the qualification (57.85 m) and did not make it to the finals.
In the 2014 season, Catherine was considered the leader of the Russian national team in women's discus throw. She managed to justify this status, taking third place in the European team championship with a good result of 63.97 m. At the August European championship she reached the final, where she took 9th place .
