One of the most prestigious awards in the genre of gospel music and is one of about 100 other nominations for this award, which was established in 1958 [1] .
The award is annually awarded by the National Academy of Art and Science of Sound Recording for “artistic achievements, technical knowledge and overall excellence in the recording industry, without taking into account album sales and its position in the charts ” [2] .
The Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance / Song category has become one of the new categories created during the 2015 Grammy Awards transformation. It is awarded to both songwriters and their performers (solos, duets, groups, collaborators). This award emerged from the selection of pre-existing awards in the categories Best Gospel Song (Best Gospel Song; for authors) and Best Gospel / Contemporary Christian Music Performance (for artists). And the performers of the style of modern Christian music were allocated to the category Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance / Song [3] .
