Events

The expulsion of the Albigenses from the city after the siege of Carcassonne

Beginning of the Albiguian Crusades in Southern France, France (until 1229 ). The Crusaders captured Beziers ( Capture of Beziers ) and Carcassonne ( Siege of Carcassonne ), massacre.
Cambridge University founded.
Pope Innocent III crowned Otto IV by the Roman emperor.
1209, 1210 - Novgorod troops opposed the German knights on the territory of Torma, Uganda.
Spring - Mongolian troops under the command of Genghis Khan marched against the Tangut state of Xi Xia . The Tangut army under the command of the heir to the throne was defeated. The Mongols again (after 1207 ) managed to occupy the city of Wallachai (Ulakhai). After losing to the 50,000th Tangut army at the Imin outpost (in the Alashan mountain pass), Genghis Khan two months later managed to take revenge from the enemy, capture the outpost and go to the Tangut capital Zhongxing . After a long (until the beginning of 1210 ) siege, the parties preferred to resolve the matter through diplomatic means. The Tangut ruler recognized dependence on the Mongol khan. ^[one]
