Formed on the basis of the 2nd Infantry Division and the 2nd Kuban Cossack Separate Brigade (since the summer of 1919). The size and composition have repeatedly changed.

By July 5 (18), 1919, there were 7583 people. (including 567 officers, 5904 drill, 379 auxiliary and 733 non-combat lower ranks). They also included: [1]

  • Armenian separate battalion (176 bayonets, 4 machine guns)
  • detachment of Colonel Shcheglovsky (816 bayonets, 8 machine guns)
  • 2nd Don Separate Hundred (166 sabers)
  • Special Black Sea separate border detachment (512 bayonets, 4 machine guns)
  • armed steamships "Dneprovets", "Caution" and "Cyclone".

On October 5 (18), 1919, there were a total of 6504 bayonets and 1303 sabers with 125 machine guns and 16 guns [1] .

The troops fought against the Georgian army and were involved in the suppression of the green rebel movement. In March 1920 disbanded; the remnants of units pulled together for the defense of the Novorossiysk fortified area.
