Alexander Yaroslavovich Kerch ( Latvian: Aleksandrs Kerčs ; born March 16, 1967, Arkhangelsk ) - Soviet and Latvian hockey player (striker), Latvian hockey coach.

Alexander Kerch was born in Arkhangelsk , lived in the historic district of Solombala . It has Ukrainian roots. Pupil of the hockey club " Spartak (Arkhangelsk) " [1] . In 1982, at the invitation of the second league hockey team, Latvijas bērzs moved to live in Riga .
At the age of 18, he was called up for military service in the border troops of the USSR and began playing in 1985 for the Riga hockey club Dynamo .
In 1987, as part of the USSR youth team, he participated in the World Championship among youth teams in Czechoslovakia (see also Hockey Fight in Piestany ).
In 1988, as part of the Dynamo (Riga) team, he became the USSR vice hockey champion .
In 1993, Alexander Kerch was drafted by the Canadian club " Edmonton Oilers ", for which he played 5 games in the NHL [2] .
Until the fall of 1995, he lived in Canada . After returning from Canada, he played in the Pardaugava team (HC Dynamo Riga), and after its collapse - for the club of the Latvian hockey league Riga Alliance .

In the seasons 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 he played for the club of the Latvian hockey league ASK-Ogre ( en: ASK / Ogre ). Recognized as the best striker of the Latvian Hockey League of the 2006-07 season.
In 2010, he played for the club HC "Latgale" [1] .
He played for the Latvian national team from its inception in the fall of 1992 until the spring of 2004 ( at the World Cup in the Czech Republic ).
Coached the youth team "Dragoons" from Mozhaysk near Moscow. Since August 2015, he has been training the farm club of Zhlobin Metallurg .
In 1989, he married Margarita Novikova. In 1990, son Alexander was born. Son is also a professional hockey player, plays for the club HK Kurbads [3]
