Participant in the Summer Olympic Games in Munich (1972) and three world championships in rowing slalom (1969, 1971 and 1973). At the world championship in Swiss Muotatal (1973) he won a bronze medal in team competition.

At the end of his sports career, he switched to coaching, was the head of the canoe team at the Beijing Summer Olympics (2008), and in recent years has been the regional director of the National Institute of Sports and Physical Culture.
