Biography

Born in Perm on September 15 (28), 1914 in the family of a civil engineer Leonid Petrovich and teacher Ekaterina Pavlovna. He was baptized a few days later according to the holy calendar, received the name in honor of the King of Serbia, Stephen Vladislav I , who was the first to discover silver deposits in his country. He also had a younger brother, Viktor, sister Tatyana, and an older brother, Herman (also a writer).

Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming a geologist-seeker. He graduated from the school with a geological bias, enrolled in a geological exploration college, but did not graduate from it and transferred to Leningrad , where he worked in the geological exploration department. He visited expeditions on the Kola Peninsula , in the Far North, beyond the Arctic Circle , in Kazakhstan . In 1935 he entered the geological faculty of Sverdlovsk University , then transferred to Perm . He graduated from Perm University with honors and the right to enter graduate school at the Geological Academy, but continued to work as a practical geologist, moved to the city of Verkh-Neyvinsk.

Friends-geologists are devoted to the first poems and stories of Vladislav Zanadvorov. He first appeared in print with poetry in the journal Sturm in 1932. He became the author of the cycle of poems “Kizel”, the poem “The Way of the Engineer” and the novel “Copper Mountains”. He was a member of the Rezets group, published in the almanacs Ural Sovremennik and Prikamye. In his work he praised the courage of pioneers, geologists and builders. The verses are marked by the severity and accuracy of the details.

In February 1942, Vladislav, despite proposals to go to work at the plant, joined the army. He served in the 47th Guards Rifle Division , 510th Rifle Regiment, and commanded a mortar platoon. He fought in the Battle of Stalingrad . He wrote letters to friends and wife regularly. According to the notice from the foreman Shaurov, he died on November 27, 1942 at 10 pm in the village of Rusakovo, Chernyshevsky District, Rostov Region (according to other sources, November 28).

After the death, his wife Ekaterina Pavlovna and his little son Yuri (born September 15, 1940 ) remained.
