Nikolai Pavlovich Tokarev ( February 18, 1919 - September 13, 1942 ) - Soviet fighter pilot, flight commander of the 15th aviation regiment of the 287th fighter aviation division of the 8th Air Army , foreman , Komsomolets, candidate member of the CPSU (b) . Scored 6 individual and 3 group victories. He died by air ramming during the Battle of Stalingrad .

Biography
Nikolai Pavlovich Tokarev was born on February 18, 1919 in the working village of Shebekino, Kursk province (now the Belgorod region ). In 1936 he graduated from ten classes of high school. During his studies, Nikolai Tokarev was fond of physics and mathematics [1] . While studying at school, Nikolai learned to parachute in the circle of Osoaviahim . In 1940 he graduated from the flying club, and then the Chuguev Military Infantry School [2] . On June 22, 1941, Nikolai Pavlovich gave birth to two twin daughters, Valya and Lida [1] .
In the Great Patriotic War since 1941 [2] . Before his death, he made more than one hundred sorties, conducted 52 air battles [1] , in which he personally shot down 6 and in a group of 3 enemy aircraft [2] .
N.P. Tokarev repeatedly flew as a follower of the regiment commander Major V.N. Kalachev . So on June 25, 1942, Kalachev and Tokarev tied six enemy fighters in battle, and at that time Pavel Tarasov, together with Ilya Balanenko, attacked enemy bombers. In this battle, Kalachev shot down a Me-109 . On June 28, V. N. Kalachev with the follower N. P. Tokarev again achieved success [3] .
At the end of June, Tokarev was a follower of the squadron commander, Captain Alexander Efimovich Vasin. Together, they attacked 12 Ju-88 under cover of 6 Me-109 . In this battle, Nikolai Pavlovich shot down an enemy bomber, but his plane was damaged and he had to make an emergency landing in a neutral strip. At night, the plane was repaired and on its own returned to the regiment [3] . Subsequently, the Vasin-Tokarev pair was distinguished by mutual understanding and skill [4] .
Since September 4, Nikolai Pavlovich as part of the 15th IAP participated in the defensive period of the Battle of Stalingrad. The air regiment was based at the airfield at the district center of Srednyaya Akhtuba [4] . These days, N. P. Tokarev carried out reconnaissance flights to the area of Kotelnikovo , Kletskaya , Surovikino , Kalach-on-Don [4] . At the same time, the foreman Tokarev was appointed link commander [4] .
September 8, 1942 N.P. Tokarev in an air battle shot down two enemy aircraft personally and two in a group [5] . In this battle, the elder aircraft of Tokarev was badly damaged (part of the stabilizer was destroyed and the elevators and turns were damaged), but the pilot was able to bring the hard-to-control aircraft to the airfield and land.
September 11, 1942 Nikolai Pavlovich shot down an enemy bomber [5] . For this battle, the unit commander N. P. Tokarev was thanked by the division commander Major General S. P. Danilov [4] .
September 13, 1942 Tokarev made 4 sorties [2] . In the last flight to the area of the settlement Gorodishche, along with a led lieutenant Stepan Mikhailovich Egorov [1] [1] the enemy bomber shot down. Having spent ammunition on the first bomber, he made an air ram and at the cost of his own life shot down the second bomber of the enemy [7] . The report of the irretrievable losses said: "He did not return from the mission from the Gorodishche district" [8] . In the order on exclusion from the lists, the reason for retirement was called “missing” [9] .
