History
In 1103, Dolobsky congress of Russian princes was held in Chertoroy ( Dolobskoe Lake , mentioned in the chronicles, was located in the area of Trukhanov Island) .
The first mention of the name Chertoroy refers to 1147. Initially, after the left tributary (Desna) flow into the Dnieper, the channel was divided into sleeves: in the east - the Chertora , and in the west - the Old Man . In the 1850s, a dam was built near the source of the Chertora channel, which was damaged by flood in 1877, and was finally eroded in 1882. In 1884, in order to protect Trukhanov from the erosion of the island , the channel of Chertoroy was strengthened. Since 1972, part of the territory of Chertoroy became part of the Muromets park .
