The INSEE code of the commune is 41106. The population of the commune in 2012 was 4782 people. The settlement is located at an altitude of 106 to 146 meters above sea level. The mayor of the commune is Pascal Bielac, the mandate is valid for 2014–2020.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the commune was considered the "Capital of the Hunt" by Soloni due to the Lamot-Beuvron forest near the commune. At the moment, the city has a well-developed infrastructure related to equestrian sports . Every year, in the first and third week of July, open show jumping competitions are held .
The main transport routes passing through the commune are: the A71 road, the National Road 20 ( Paris - Toulouse - Spain ) and the SNCF Paris-Toulouse line.
Geography
Lamotte-Beuvron is located in Sologne on the Bevron River. The municipality is bordered by the communes of Chamonat-sur-Thoron, Vouzon, Nouan-les-Fuselier. It is located 36 kilometers from Romorantin-Lanthenet , 40 kilometers from Orleans , 60 kilometers from Blois . The commune includes part of the Lamotte-Beuvron forest. The total size of the array is 2000 hectares.
History
Until the beginning of the XIX century Lamot-Beuvron was called La Mothe-sur-Beuvron, this name was derived from the medieval embankment - mott , on the bank of the Beuvron river (Beuvron is translated from Celtic - "beaver river"). There was a castle on the embankment, but nothing was left of it. Until the 18th century, the village belonged to Wooson , a commune 5 kilometers from Lamoth-Beuvron. The village became an independent parish in 1703, but the administrative and tax dependency remained - at that time Lamot-Beuvron and Vouzon were organized into the community of Vouzon-Lamot. Only in 1792 the commune was recognized as a separate city.
Population
In 2011, there were 2,097 taxable households in the commune. Average earnings (per year) amounted to 21,747 euros. In the commune, 65.7% of the population is employed in the service sector , 3.5% in agriculture , 20.3% in government positions (also in medical care) [2] .

There is a version that the recipe for the famous inverted cake “Tarte Tatin” was invented at the hotel of the Tatin sisters in Lamoth-Beuvron about 1880 [4] . Hotel Tatin still exists. Every year on the second weekend of September a fair dedicated to the cake is held.
