Activities
UnLtd receives investment income with the amount available, and also collects donations from organizations and individuals [2] .
The funds received in this way are mostly distributed according to approved applications for individual prizes (grants) to projects in the field of social entrepreneurship in the amount of from £ 2,500 to £ 20,000 per project [2] [4] . Part of the funds goes to cover organizational costs. The remaining amount is added to the basic investment funds.
Such a scheme allows you to conduct sustainable activities without time limits and regardless of the intensity of new arrivals [2] . At the same time, the volume of incoming funds potentially allows supporting about 1000 applications annually [2] .
History
The UnLtd Consortium was created in 2000 by seven leading organizations in the field of social entrepreneurship at that time: the Ashoka Foundation , Changemakers , Community Action Network (CAN), Discharge of Laughter , The Scarman Trust , Senscot and The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) [2] [6] .
The purpose of the consortium was to receive the Millennium Prize in the amount of £ 100 million from the Millennium Commission , which received funds from the British National Lottery for these purposes; which, as a result, was achieved in 2002 [3] [6] .
As a result, a system of trusts, funds, and non-profit organizations was created that manage the amount received based on stated goals.
On March 4, 2008, UnLtd (UnLtd Research) launched the UnLtdWorld Internet community project for communication and interaction of social entrepreneurs [7] [8] . By 2014, the UnLtdWorld community grew to 13,000 people and on March 2, 2014, the Guardian acquired the project in order to integrate social entrepreneurs into their network [9] [7] [8] .
In October 2014, Community Action Network (CAN) and Senscot issued a joint statement describing the activities of UnLtd between 2008 and 2012 as "erosion of the not-for-private-enrichment principle" ( eng. Erosion of the not-for -private-profit principles ) and stated that they were stopping cooperation with the parent fund, nevertheless, working with subsidiaries and remaining open to dialogue [10] .
