The National Social Entrepreneurship Forum (NSEF) is an Indian non-profit organization supporting social entrepreneurship among young people, especially students from Indian universities. The forum invites students to cooperate with existing social enterprises or helps them open their own social project, participates in the exchange of knowledge in the field of social entrepreneurship and the financing of some projects (environmental protection, vocational training for youth, helping poor peasants to go to college, producing biodiesel in villages and others) [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] .

The National Forum of Social Entrepreneurship opens information centers for the exchange of best practices in the best institutions of the country, provides mentoring and creates opportunities for students to cooperate with social enterprises [7] .
History
The National Social Entrepreneurship Forum was founded in February 2009 by Yashvir Singh in Bangalore . From the very beginning, the forum worked closely with other non-governmental organizations ( the Ashoka Foundation , Samhita Social Ventures , NASSCOM Foundation , Sankalp Forum and Villgro Innovations Foundation ) [8] [9] [10] .
In 2011, Yashvir Singh was awarded the World Economic Forum Global Shaper nomination by the World Economic Forum, awarded by The StartingBloc Institute and the Hindustan Times , and was also featured by Echoing Green [11] [2] among the semi-finalists. In 2012, Yashvir Singh received the Youth Action Net Global Fellows Award from the International Youth Foundation [12] .
Projects and Programs
- NSEF Idea Conferences is a platform through which forum staff tell students about social innovation and provide them with a launching pad for their social entrepreneurial ideas [13] .
- NSEF Authors of Change Program is a program for solving typical problems that arise in young social entrepreneurs [14] .
- NSEF Fellowship is a program of support for students who start social projects after college (combines their beginnings with existing resources and the achievements of the forum).
