Biography

He was born on September 27, 1835 in the puddle village of Malescheti near Budishin. After graduating from the city school, from 1848 to 1856 he studied at the gymnasium. After high school he studied theology in Leipzig . He was a member of the student brotherhood " Sorabia ". Since 1860 he worked for three years as a home teacher. In 1861 he joined the Serbluzhitsk educational organization “ Matica Serbs”. In 1863 he was ordained a priest. He served as rector in the village of Smelna until 1899. As a priest, he belonged to the conservative direction of the Serboluzhitsky Lutheran priesthood. In 1886, he opposed Jan Veli , who published the book Trójniki with criticism of Christianity at the publishing house “Matitsa Serbski”.

He wrote dozens of theological and popular science books that were published by the Serbian Lutheran Society. He printed his poems in the Serbo-Luzhitsa periodical.

In 1936, Ota Vichaz published autobiographical notes by Jan August Sikora entitled “W Malešecach před 100 lětami”.
