Isaac lived for some time in Guatemala , where his parents worked. There, he studied at the missionary school of the city of Quetzaltenango . He attended the Christian Academy in the city of Arvada , and later entered the University of Denver with a degree in Music Art and Entertainment Industry Research. At the end of the training, he received a bachelor's degree in music education [3] .
At eight years old, Isaac begins to sing, after three years already plays the piano . He wrote his first song when he was 16 years old. In high school, he actively studied playing the guitar [4] .
The Fray
Future The Fray bandmates Dave Welch and Ben Wysocki suggested Isaac join their band Ember. However, the collective did not exist for a long time and soon disintegrated. In the spring of 2002, Slade accidentally meets with former classmate Joe King at a local music store. This meeting became crucial and laid the foundation for the creation of the group. This idea was supported by friends of Slade from his previous group - Ben Wysocki and Dave Welch [5] .
So the Denver rock band The Fray was formed. Soon they record a mini-album, Movement EP , in 2003 - Reason EP . The new collective is under pressure from some music critics, in particular, from the Denver alternative music columnist Westword [6] [7] . Despite the negative reviews, the group is struggling to launch the first single. The local KTCL station rejected eight The Fray tracks before releasing Cable Car. This song instantly gains popularity and becomes the most listened song of 2004 on the KTCL chart [8] .
After this event, The Fray signed a contract with Epic Records and in September of the same year released their debut album How To Save A Life .
Personal life
April 16, 2006 married Anna Slade. On April 17, 2014, Isaac and Anna had a son - Judah Alexander Slade ( Eng. Judah Alexander Slade ) [9] .

In 2010, he joined 85 artists to jointly record songs in support of the victims of the earthquake in Haiti [10] .
In October 2013, Slade and the band participated in a Colorado Flood Benefit Concert charity concert for flood victims. The concert raised about 500 thousand dollars [11] .
Inspiration
In an interview, Isaac said that one of the first songs that inspired him was "Swallowed" by the British rock band Bush , and that the lyrics and melody of the song moved him enough to pursue a career [12] . On AOL Radio Blog, he wrote:
“Swallowed” has become my soul compass. I grew up in a religious family, and this man talks about his life path, about how to act, how the heart feels. Bush was banned in my house, which made this group even more mysterious. [13]
Isaac is also inspired by: Nine Inch Nails , Queen , Radiohead , REM , Counting Crows , U2 , Led Zeppelin [13] .
