The appeal of the command of the Northern detachment of the People's Rebel Army to the citizens of Tobolsk and its county
Tobolsk, February 22, 1921. We, the farmers, are in favor of human rights and a citizen of free Siberia, we are for the liberation of the brothers of the village and the city enslaved by the yoke of communism. Our task is to destroy communism, which has flooded our motherland with the blood of her sons, which has captured our labor national wealth for ruin and plunder, turning a free citizen into a slave. The struggle against rapists is difficult, but we are going for a just cause. We are a people, and we will win. Calling in the name of our dear homeland, we, her sons, are calling you — peasants, workers, soldiers, officers, all our native people! Come with us to the oppressor-communists, help us, bring everything that can be useful in the struggle for rebirth. The time has come to end the calculation with the villains - the vile robbers who dared to speak to us on behalf of the working peasantry and workers, promising us heavenly fabulous blessings. Come on, time does not wait. Who is sleeping - wake up, put an end to violence and arbitrariness. May free Siberia live! Recording of volunteers and the reception of various weapons, equipment and uniforms is carried out at the military headquarters (Svobody St., d [ohm] Kornilov), in the county - in village councils. Authorized by the detachment of the People’s Army V. Zheltovsky Chief of Staff Kozlov
The capture of the city opened the way for the rebels to the north, to Surgut and Obdorsk . By order No. 8 of February 24, he began the mobilization of men 18-35 years old (unsuccessful). On February 25, elections to the peasant-city council were held in Tobolsk. Under the attacks of the Red Army on April 8, the city was abandoned, the People's Rebel Army began a retreat to the north.
Vasily Maximovich Zheltovsky with his headquarters died May 15, 1921 in a battle near the village. Samarovo (now the district of the city of Khanty-Mansiysk ).
