Severginite is a type of manganaxinite ( Axinite- (Mn) ), as a separate mineral is not approved by MMA [1] . Discovered in the Tungatarovsky deposit of sedimentary silicate manganese ores in the Southern Urals. First described by G. P. Barsanov in 1951 [2] . Named in honor of V. M. Severgin (1765-1826).

Description
It occurs in the form of wedge-shaped crystals (up to several mm), dense granular shell-like clusters of bright yellow color in a fresh fracture.
Composition and properties
Contains up to 14.79% by weight of manganese oxide (MnO).
Associates with quartz, manganese oxides.
