The Shades of Blue is an American television series starring Jennifer Lopez , which premiered on January 7, 2016 on NBC as part of the 2015/16 season . The plot focuses on a policeman and a single mother, who has to work undercover for the FBI to fight corruption [1] .

The series was commissioned by NBC on February 21, 2014 for the 2015/16 season, bypassing the pilot production phase [2] . In the fall of 2014, Barry Levinson took over as director of a pilot episode written by Edie Hasak [3] . In February 2015, Drea de Matteo and Ray Liotta joined the project in the roles of a tough cop and lieutenant, respectively [4] .
On February 5, 2016, NBC extended the series for a second season, which premiered on March 5, 2017 [5] [6] [7] [8] . On March 17, the television series was extended for the third season [9] [10] , which was the last for the series.

- Jennifer Lopez is Detective Harley Santos , a corrupt street crime detective at the NYPD 64 Brooklyn and an FBI informant. Single mother, brings up sixteen-year-old daughter Christina. Member of the team of Matt Wozniak. After the arrest of the FBI during the anti-corruption investigation, she becomes a reluctant informant against Wozniak in exchange for immunity [11] .
- Ray Liotta - Lieutenant Matt Wozniak , corrupt commander of the detective group of street crimes of the 64th department. He served in the police for twenty-five years and spent six years in the United States Marine Corps . He is very close to Harley and Christina, whom they treat as their daughters [11] .
