Reggai Surroi ( Alb. Rexhai Surroi , Serbo Horv . Reџaџi Suroјi, Redžaji Suroji ; June 8, 1929 - December 22, 1988 ) - a Yugoslav journalist, diplomat and politician from Kosovo .
He was a member of the first generation of Kosovo schoolchildren who graduated from high school in Albanian language in the former Yugoslavia ( 1947 - 1948 ). He studied law at the University of Belgrade . He was also one of the few Albanians who became ambassadors of Yugoslavia. Father of Weton Surroy .
He was an active footballer before becoming a journalist and editor of the weekly Zani i Rinis . He was the editor of Pristina Radio, where he later became director in the mid -60s . In 1969 - 1970 He worked as the Deputy Head of the Government of the Socialist Autonomous Region of Kosovo , was one of the most ardent supporters of the creation of the University of Pristina (the only university in Yugoslavia, where Albanian was the language of instruction). In 1971 , he was appointed Ambassador of Yugoslavia to Bolivia , in 1974-1977. He served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs . From 1977 to 1981 he lived in Mexico City , where he was the ambassador of Yugoslavia to Mexico , Honduras and Costa Rica , and from 1981 to 1983 he again held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. From 1983 to 1985, he was the general manager of the largest Albanian media company in Kosovo, Rilindja . Further, from 1985 to 1988 , he was the ambassador of Yugoslavia to Spain , where he died.
He is the author of a number of works in Albanian, such as Besniku , Dashunija dhe urrejtja , Pranvera e tretë and Orteku I & II .
