Rahim Ademi ( Croatian Rahim Ademi ; January 30, 1954 , Karach, Vucitrn ) - Brigadier General of the Ground Forces of Croatia .

Biography

Rahim Ademi was born in the village of Karach, in the community of Vucitrn . Comes from a Kosovo Albanian family.

In 1976 , he graduated from the Military Academy of the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) in Belgrade , after which he began his service in Rogoznica near Sibenik . In 1986 , a military court in Sarajevo found him guilty of “counter-revolutionary actions” and “Albanian separatism, ” but after serving a year and a half in prison, the Supreme Military Court accepted his appeal and acquitted him. After his release, Ademi served in a garrison in the city of Xin .

In the summer of 1990 , when the war in Croatia began , Ademi defected from the Yugoslav army and joined the Croatian army created from scratch. Officially from 1991 to 1992 . he was an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 1992 , with the rank of foreman, he took command of the Croatian forces in the well-known area of ​​Sinj. In 1993 , he was transferred to the post of deputy commander of the district in Gospic , but was relieved of his post the same year after Operation Medak Pocket . He later served as a sub-commander of a military district in Split and received the rank of brigadier general for his achievements in Operation Storm in 1995 , remained in office until 1999 , when he was transferred to the post of deputy chief inspector of the Armed Forces in Zagreb .

At the end of July 2001, Ademi appeared before the International Tribunal in The Hague (where he appeared voluntarily).

Family

Ademi is married, has two children.
