Content
Biography
Born in the village of Dmitriyevka, Blagoveshchensk district of the Altai Territory . In 1966 he graduated from the Novosibirsk Choreographic School (teacher - Sergey Gavrilovich Ivanov).
In 1966-1990 he was a soloist with the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater , where he often danced in a duet with his wife Lyubov Gershunova.
Since 1972, he often performed at the Bolshoi Theater and the Kremlin Palace of Congresses in Moscow, at the S. M. Kirov Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater (now the Mariinsky Theater ). Danced with famous ballerinas Tatyana Zimina, Lyubov Kunakova, Bernard Karieva , Irina Kolpakova . For many years, he starred in the performances of the Bolshoi Theater "Anna Karenina" and "Carmen Suite", where he was a partner of Maya Plisetskaya . Together with her, she starred in the film ballet "Fantasy" based on the novel by Ivan Turgenev, " Spring Water " [1] .
Since 1983 he taught at his native Novosibirsk Choreographic School.
Since 1988 he worked as a choreographer. In 1989-1994 he was the organizer, artistic director and soloist of the Ballet — Novosibirsk Chamber Theater of Modern and Classical Ballet. In 1994-1999 he taught in the ballet troupe of the Novosibirsk Theater of Musical Comedy. In 2000-2006 he worked as a teacher in the school of arts at secondary school number 23 of Novosibirsk.
He died on April 28, 2015 in Novosibirsk [2] .

- Wife - ballet dancer Lyubov Vasilyevna Gershunova (1947-2006), People's Artist of the RSFSR. The TV movie “The History of a Duet” (1984) is dedicated to the work of the spouses.
