Biography
Alexander Ivanovich Kabanov was born on February 9, 1902 in Moscow (according to other sources, in the village of Polushkino in the modern Stupinsky district of the Moscow region ).
He began his career in 1918 , worked as a clerk at a sawmill in Saratov , as a clerk on the railway. Later, after graduating from a commercial school, he worked in the agricultural sector [1] .
In May 1924, Kabanov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1926 he graduated from the Leningrad Military Theoretical School of the Air Force, in 1927 - from the Kachin Military Aviation School of Pilots. He took part in the battles on the CER .
In August 1933, Kabanov transferred to flight test work at the Air Force Research Institute . Since 1943 he was deputy flight director of the institute [1] .
Kabanov took an active part in the tests of many aircraft models, including: “He.111B-1”, “Ar-2”, “S”, “B-25V”, “Su-6”, “Mosquito-IV”, Boston-3, IL-2, Tu-70. SB, Pe-2, UT-2, Yak-2, Me-109E-3, Yak-1, LaGG-1, MiG-1, Me -262 "," Yak-15 "," Tu-4 "," La-15 ". In addition, he participated in the testing of new models of parachutes.
He participated in the Great Patriotic War. In June - August 1941 - commander of the 410th Bomber Aviation Regiment (Western Front), formed from test pilots of the Air Force Research and Test Institute ; made 2 sorties on the Pe-2 .
In September 1941 - March 1942 he was on a government business trip to the United States on the purchase of aircraft [1] .
Since 1949, Kabanov served as deputy flight training director of the Higher Officer Flight Tactical Courses of the Air Force in Taganrog . In September 1953, he headed the post of head of the flight test service of the Design Bureau A. Tupolev .
Tragically died on October 24, 1954 in the vicinity of the village of Biryuli in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic during the crash of the Tu-75 aircraft. He was buried at the Vvedensky cemetery in Moscow [1] .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , two orders of the Red Banner , the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, two orders of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
