Biography
He was born on December 8, 1898 in the village of Slobodka in the Zimnitsky volost of the Zhizdrinsky district (now Duminichi district ) into a poor peasant family. In 1910 he graduated from the Sloboda parish school, worked in the farm of his father and hired.
In 1916-1917 at the front, he served in the 471st Kozelsky regiment.
Since 1918 in the Red Army. In 1919, he fought on the Southern Front as part of the 1st Horse Army of Budenny, commander of a machine-gun platoon.
In October 1919, the 111th Novocherkassk regiment, in which Sipeyev served, was surrounded. He received an order at the head of a group of machine gunners at night to get into the rear of the enemy and cause panic in his camp. Having walked about 20 km through the swamp, the detachment entered the location of the Denikin units. Placing machine guns on the skyscrapers, the Red Army opened fire. At this time, on the other hand, the White Guards attacked the 111th regiment. Denikinites fled in panic, dropping heavy weapons.
For this feat, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee awarded Yegor Sipeyev the Order of the Red Banner [1] .
Later, in the position of commander of a machine-gun company, he participated in battles with Wrangel, in crossing Sivash, in the Polish campaign . In 1920-1923 he served in the troops of the Cheka [1] .
In 1923 he returned to Slobodka. He worked in the executive committee and then headed the horse farm on the collective farm.
In 1941, despite his disability, he volunteered for the front. He served in the 1097th Rifle Regiment of the 326th SD as an assistant commander of a machine-gun platoon.
He died on August 30, 1943. Buried in with. Latvians of the Kuibyshevsky district (now - Kaluga region).
