Micronecta kymatista (lat.) - A species of small water bugs of the genus Micronecta from the rowing family ( Corixidae , Micronectinae , or Micronectidae ). Southeast Asia, Indonesia : Sulawesi (Sulawesi Utara, Sulawesi Tenggara), Borneo (Kalimantan Timur) [1] .

Small water bugs, length from 2.8 to 3.1 mm (which is considered a large size for this genus). The body length is more than 2 times its width. Pronotum slightly wider than head. Fawn, head top yellow, pronotum brown, eyes gray, abdomen and legs light yellow. Antennae 3-segmented. The body is elongated, slightly flattened, the head is wide. Faceted eyes are large, simple eyes are absent. The shield is free. In males, right-sided asymmetry of the abdomen; on tergite VI, small strigillus is developed; claw of fore tarsi lobate. They live in lakes [1] .
The species was first described in 1999 and is included in the subgenus Sigmonecta , close to the species Micronecta quadristrigata [2] . One of 8 species of the genus Micronecta living in Borneo [1] [3] .
