The son of a shipping engineer. Education:
- parish school
- elementary school (1914)
- Kazan secondary chemical-technical school (did not graduate?)
- Kazan Polytechnic Institute, Department of Chemistry (1925).
In 1919-1921 He served in the Red Army as a draftsman of mobile aviation workshops. In 1925-1934 he worked in the Urals at the enterprises of the sugar and (since 1929) chemical industries. In 1934-1946, chief engineer, since 1944 director of the Polevsky cryolite plant.
Since June 1946, the chief engineer of the Volkhov aluminum plant.
The 1957 Lenin Prize - for successfully solving the problem of obtaining alumina from nepheline.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star (1944), other orders and medals.
He died on the night of May 5, 1960 in Leningrad after a serious illness. He was buried at the Okhta cemetery.
