Kandavu fantail [1] ( lat. Rhipidura personata ) is an endemic bird species from the family of fantail (Rhipiduridae).

It is found only in the forests of the islands of Kandavu and Ono , which are part of the Kandavu archipelago , which administratively belongs to the province of Fiji of the same name .
The species is most closely related to the spotted fantail ( Rhipidura spilodera ), which lives on the other islands of Fiji .
It prefers lowlands, the range is limited to a small area (≈225 km²) of tropical rainforests .
The main population of the Kandavu fantail is located on the island of Kandavu, the subpopulation of the island It accounts for only 5% of the total number of individuals, which is estimated in the range from 2.5 to 10 thousand. It is a protected species, but despite this there is a gradual decrease in the population due to forest fires [2] .
