Potapievsky, Arkady Grigorievich

Arkady G. Potapievsky (born in December 1, 1926 in Kiev) - Soviet scientist, doctor of technical sciences, professor, winner of the Lenin Prize .

During World War II, he worked in the river fleet. He graduated with honors from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (1952) and the evening economic department of Kiev University.

Since 1952 he has been working at the Institute of Electric Welding. E. O. Paton Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Candidate of Technical Sciences (1960).

In 1962, in collaboration with B.E. Paton, he developed pulse-arc welding in argon and gas mixtures, welding technologies for non-ferrous metals.

The Lenin Prize of 1963 - for the development and implementation of welding processes in carbon dioxide with a consumable electrode.

Since 1996, a technical expert auditor for certification and testing of welding equipment.
