Francois-Louis de Morlan ( Fr. François-Louis de Morlan , 1771-1805) - French military leader, second guard colonel (June 9, 1805), participant in the revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. The name of the colonel is stamped on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

In the 4th arrondissement of Paris there is a boulevard named after Morlan.
Biography
Born in 1771 in the town of Souilly, Province of Barrois. He began his service on March 15, 1791 in the 11th cavalry regiment, 15 September became junior lieutenant, then August 20, 1792 - lieutenant, August 11, 1793 - captain. He served in the Ardennes and Sambro-Maaska armies. He received a bullet wound from Sprimon on September 19, 1795. Produced in the squadron commanders on September 6, 1801, and on October 13, 1802, was transferred to the Consular Guard . January 31, 1804 - Major Guard and deputy commander of the regiment of horse rangers . After the appointment of Eugène Beaugarne as vice-king of Italy, Morlan received on June 9, 1805 the rank of second colonel of the guard, and commanded the regiment of horse rangers of the Imperial Guard in the campaign of 1805. He was fatally wounded in the Battle of Austerlitz on December 2, 1805, and died in Brno on December 5.
