History
The first mention of the settlement dates back to 1276 .
Until December 31, 2010 Gimrits formed her own commune, which also included the village of Raunitz ( German: Raunitz ).
January 1, 2011 , after the reforms, Gimrits, together with Raunits, became part of the new commune Vettin-Löbeun as a district [1] .
