Function
FKBP3 is a member of the family of involved in immunoregulation and the basic cellular processes of folding and protein movement. This protein is a cis- transprolylisomerase that binds to the immunosuppressants tacrolimus (FK506) and rapamycin . Protein has a higher affinity for rapamycin than for FK506, and thus may be an important target molecule for immunosuppression with rapamycin [3] .

FKBP3, as identified, interacts with [4] , histone deacetylase 1 [4] , histone deacetylase 2 [4] and 5Mdm2 [5] .
