Biography

Born on March 1 ( March 14, according to the new style) in 1903 in Moscow.

In his youth, he was a fighter of the Red Army . [1] Then he decided to become an actor. He studied at the Perm Drama Studio. He began his professional creative career in 1923 as a dramatic actor. He played in the theaters of Perm, Vyatka, Ufa, Tyumen and the Leningrad Bolshoi Drama Theater. Since 1931 he worked on the stage. He was a member of the troupe of the State Agitation Theater in Moscow and in the early 1930s made tour tours with him around the country. During the Great Patriotic War, Balashov read the patriotic lyrics of Mayakovsky, Pushkin, Lermontov, spoke at the fronts, in particular, was the first artist in Stalingrad , speaking in the heroic 62nd Army . [1] Member of the CPSU since 1954.

Since the mid-1950s, he began performing in the evenings “One-Actor Theater”. In the 1970s, Sergei Mikhailovich collaborated with the Moscow Philharmonic.

He died on December 19, 1989 in Moscow. He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery (2nd section, 12th row) [2] .
