Career
Club
He previously played at the club level for the Hungarian youth teams MAK Nepstadion and Uipesti, had experience playing in Canada for Notre Dame Argos. Since 2002, playing at the adult level for the “Alba Shuttlecock” in the Austrian Hockey League [1] . Six-time Hungarian champion and two-time Interliga champion.
Team
In the youth team, Kovacs played at the U18 World Championship in Division B in 1999, as well as in the European First Division in 2000 and in the Second Division in 2001 and 2002. At the World Youth Championship, he played in the second division from 2001 to 2003 and once in the first division in 2004. He has been playing in the national team since 2004, without missing a single tournament. He participated in qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Games in Turin, Vancouver and Sochi.
In 2009, Hungary played for the first time in the world championship in the top division: Kovacs spent all six matches for the national team and scored one point, giving an assist to Tamasha Schille in the first match against Slovakia (Schille equalized, but Hungary lost in the end 4: 3 in the last seconds) [2] .
