Building History
In 1950, the Rodina cinema opened in Chelyabinsk, which became the largest in the city. The cinema, with a capacity of 500 seats, was built according to a typical project in the neoclassical style. The main facade of the building was decorated in the form of a monumental Corinthian portico with a triangular pediment. In 1975, by the efforts of the artist K.V. Fokin, pictorial murals appeared in the interior of the hall and auditorium, which were not provided for by the original project [2] . Since the 80s of the XX century, the cinema for the first time in Chelyabinsk began to show stereo films . According to its original purpose, the Rodina Cinema worked until 2002, when the cinema building was declared in danger. In October 2008, the building became the property of a private organization [3] . Restoration and reconstruction of the building began after the announcement of the transfer to the cinema building of an organ with the participation of the German company Hermann Oil from the building of the Alexander Nevsky Church , which was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church . From 2010 to 2014, the building underwent large-scale reconstruction. The redevelopment of the building of the former cinema was carried out directly under the built-in musical instrument. The interiors of the hall, vestibules and hall were decided in a classic style. In the lobby of the hall lost stucco restored. In the auditorium, special acoustic chairs are installed that do not absorb sound. For artists 8 dressing rooms were created. The main facade of the building has been restored with the preservation of its original appearance: a portico with a pediment, an entrance porch are preserved. The original stucco molding has been restored or restored along the perimeter of the building.
On December 24, 2014, the first concert took place in the building of the former stereo cinema Rodina, and on December 25 the official opening of the Rodina Organ and Chamber Music Hall took place [4] .
Authority
The organ was made by the masters of the German company Hermann Eule (German: Hermann Eule ). The cost of the organ in 1987 was approximately 790 thousand marks ; the construction of a similar tool in 2010 would cost 950 thousand euros .
The building of the Alexander Nevsky Church was rebuilt taking into account all the conditions necessary for the installation of the organ. The acoustics of the room were modified due to the special decoration of the body of the building and the acoustic interior - for example, the installation of a large ceiling chandelier to disperse the sound and prevent excessive amplification of the acoustics. A vibration-proof base was erected for an organ with a permissible load of 9 tons, an air conditioning system was installed to ensure a constant temperature and humidity in the room. Thanks to high-quality climate technology for 23 years, the body was kept in optimal temperature and humidity conditions.
The instrument consisted of 2504 pipes, 37 registers, three manuals and a pedal keyboard. The game (keyboard) traction is mechanical, the register traction is electromechanical. His sound was distinguished by rare softness and nobleness of sounding of the main voices.
Many performers consider the Chelyabinsk organ one of the best in Russia and Europe. The creators of the instrument, a world-famous organ-building company, believed that the Chelyabinsk organ is one of the best instruments on an international scale [5] .
In 1998, work was carried out to repair and modernize the body with the participation of specialists from Hermann Eule. [6] In January 2014, the organ was dismantled from the building of the church of Alexander Nevsky and transported to the building of the Rodina cinema. During 2014, a radical modernization of the body was made. The musical instrument was cleaned and its sound modernization was carried out. The instrument was built into a modern system of combining registrations made in Germany. The memory bank of this system stores 9999 thousand register combinations [7] . According to music experts, this allows artists to improvise and experiment.
