History
Saulkalne station was built in 1931 with the aim of servicing the dolomite quarry on the island of Naves. A branch was laid from the station to the bank of the Daugava, 2 km long and another 1.7 km of tracks were equipped on the island of Shed. A ferry ran between the island and the coast, onto which the trolleys with the breed were driven. These access roads existed until 1944 [1] .
Platform
Only suburban trains stop in Saulkaln, and long-distance trains and international trains pass this platform. The cash desk is open until 12:50 on weekdays, and is closed on weekends. During the period when the ticket office does not work, a ticket can be bought from the conductor on the train without extra charge.
