Aulacophora bicolor (lat.) Is a species of leaf beetles of the genus Aulacophora from the subfamily of gnats ( Galerucinae ) [1] .

Vietnam , India , Indonesia , Cambodia , China , Laos , Malaysia , Thailand , the Philippines , Taiwan , Sri Lanka , Japan [2] . One of 10 species of the genus found in Taiwan [1] .
Description
Small brightly colored beetles, elytra yellow-brown with black spots (up to completely black). Males: length 6.6-8.2 mm, width 3.3-4.3 mm. Females: length 8.8-9.8 mm, width 4.3-4.9 mm). Antennae 11-segmented. The body is oval-elongated, the attachment points of the antennae are separated, the pronotum with transverse indentation (groove), the epitleuron of the elite are truncated (sharply tapering to the apex) behind the middle line of the elytra, the anterior pelvic hollows behind are open, the abdominal 5th ventrite is three-lobed, the calves are armed with apical claws of legs are bifurcated. They feed on dicotyledonous plants: Cucurbitaceae : Zehneria mucronata [1] [3] . The species was first described in 1801 by the German entomologist Friedrich Weber (Friedrich Weber, 1781–1823) [4] , and its validity was verified by a Taiwanese entomologist Chi-Feng Lee; Taiwan Applied Zoology Division, Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Taichung, Taiwan ) and Dutch coleopterologist Ron Beenen (Ron Beenen; Martinus Nijhoffhove, Nieuwegein, Netherlands ) [1] .
