The 133rd fighter aviation regiment was formed in the Moscow military district at the airfield of Dubrovitsy in the Podolsky district of the Moscow region from March to May 1940.
Disbandment of the Regiment
On May 31, 1961, the 133rd fighter aviation Baranavichy Red Banner Regiment was disbanded as part of the 229th Iad of the 26th VA of the Belarusian Military District at Kobrin airfield.

First regiment victory in aerial combat
The first known air victory of the regiment in World War II was won on February 20, 1942: a pair of I-153 (leader - Lieutenant Wild M. P.) in an air battle in the area south of the station. Akmonai shot down an enemy bomber Xe-111 .
